VALENCIA, 11 Apr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

A total of 44 people who participated as diners in a test of the television program 'Masterchef' held in Valencia suffered food poisoning, as confirmed by the Department of Health of the Generalitat Valenciana.

The recording of the popular cooking 'talent' broadcast by TVE took place on January 19 at the Oceanogràfic de València and some of its workers participated in it.

After the broadcast of the program, last Sunday, a Twitter user - who identified herself as an employee of the Valencian oceanographic - assured that she had suffered, like other colleagues, symptoms of gastroenteritis for which she had to go to a service emergencies. "Thank you 'Masterchef' for the worst dining experience I've ever had in my life," she said.

He added that the company had informed those responsible for the program of what had happened and that Public Health was also aware of it. The Department of Health confirmed this Tuesday to Europa Press that 44 people were affected.

For its part, the producer of the program, Shine Iberia, has issued a statement in which they regret what happened. "From MasterChef we are very sorry for the indisposition expressed by some of the diners who attended the recording of our exterior in Valencia, with whom they were in contact at all times through the Oceanogràfic, as they were company personnel."

They emphasize that it is an "absolutely exceptional case in these 11 years of MasterChef in Spain, a program where it is an absolute priority to guarantee the food care of the people involved."

They add that outside of Valencia "the food was analyzed at source with positive results and its traceability was guaranteed throughout the process, as reported and documented to the competent health authorities when we became aware of the facts."
