Feijóo will propose to Sánchez a pact for the "general interest" of the country so that it is not mediated by "radicals"

Sémper criticizes the "marketing" of PSOE seats in Congress and the Senate so that the pro-independence forces have their own group

MADRID, 29 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will discuss this Wednesday in his meeting with the general secretary of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez, an agreement for the "general interest" of Spain so that the future of the country is not "mediated" by "independentists" or by "the radicals".

This was announced by the Deputy Secretary for Culture of the Popular Party, Borja Sémper, in an interview in Cuatro, collected by Europa Press, in which he also criticized the "marketing" of seats carried out by the Socialists in Congress and in the Senate so that Junts and ERC have their own group.

"It would be convenient to explore the possibility, at least explore it, that the PSOE and the PP surpass our acronyms to find ourselves at a point of understanding that thinks exclusively of the general interests of all Spaniards," Sémper explained after being asked about the objective de Feijóo in the meeting that he will hold this Wednesday in Congress with Sánchez.

In this sense, the 'popular' leader has claimed the need to transfer to the Socialists the idea that "it is convenient" that the future of Spain is not "mediated by the independentistas or by the radicals".

In his opinion, Spanish politics has been "for too long anchored in radicalism, in confrontation, in the trenches" and it would be convenient for the PP and PSOE to carry out an "exercise of generosity". "There are many politicians in Spain but there are few statesmen," added Sémper.

"What we are going to try and what President Feijóo is going to share with Pedro Sánchez tomorrow is: Is there any possibility of understanding each other? Do we not share the idea that it would be convenient for PSOE and PP to agree on some important challenges that the country? We believe so", he stressed.

Sémper has once again criticized the loan of seats that the PSOE has carried out in Congress so that Junts and ERC can form their own parliamentary groups, describing the action as a "chalaneo", a "marketing" and an "Arab souk".

"This is not what we have voted for the Spaniards (...) It is that the sense of the citizens' vote is being altered," warned the PP Deputy Secretary of Culture, accusing the Socialists of buying "the will" of the nationalist formations.

Thus, he has claimed that the PP will not enter into "this chalaneo" and that it intends to change politics "in substance" and "in form" respecting "the popular will".

"If ERC, Junts or any other political party has not obtained the electoral result that allows it to form parliamentary groups, then the regulation should not be forced," he insisted.
