Feijóo sets the goal of reaching 22 million Social Security affiliates in the next legislature

BARCELONA, 26 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, affirmed this Monday that the Spanish economy needs "strong" governance and institutions, something that according to him does not happen with the Government of the PSOE and United We Can.

"We need to have a strong government and not reissue a fragmented government," he said on Monday at the closing of an act to present the PP's electoral proposal on the economy at the Casa Seat in Barcelona and which was also attended by the president of the Catalan PP , Alejandro Fernandez; the general secretary of the party, Cuca Gamarra, and the leader of the PP in the Barcelona City Council, Daniel Sirera, among others.

Feijóo has assured that, if he is president of the Government, he will put an end to the "frivolity of these last five years" and will face the economic horizon with maturity and responsibility.

In this scenario, he has opted to clean up public finances, reduce the "fiscal pressure" on work and design a new labor framework that solves the structural problems of the employment market in Spain.

His objective - he said - is for Spain to stop being in the "tail" of the ranking of economic growth in the European Union and rise to the 'top three', and to finish the next legislature with 22 million members of the Social Security.

"Spain cannot afford four more years of economic populism," he added.

Fejióo has been summoned to improve the problems of "legal security" in Spain, with legal regulations, according to him, that are of poor quality and can be simplified in order to offer a clearer legal framework to businessmen, investors and entrepreneurs.

Thus, it has opted to address, together with the autonomous communities, the "rationalization and harmonization of the autonomous regulations within the competences of each one" and promote the validity throughout Spain of the permits and licenses granted by the autonomous administrations.

The leader of the PP has called to resolve the "blockade" of labor conflicts in the Administration of Justice, with thousands of cases blocked, and to provide it with greater means to promote its effectiveness.

It has also promised to promote an "appointment system that ensures the independence and capacity" of positions at the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), the Constitutional Court (TC) and the State Attorney General's Office, among other institutions.

Regarding squats, he has advocated guaranteeing evictions in "24 hours", and has reiterated that if the PP governs, it will repeal the Housing Law to improve the rental offer, lower prices and facilitate the recovery of squatted properties, in his words.
