Feijóo, on the amnesty law: "Every attack by Sánchez against the Constitution, we will denounce until it is reversed"

MADRID, 12 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has assured before the debate on the amnesty law that is being held this Tuesday in Congress that no one can expect his party to "lower their heads" when they are "risking democracy" in Spain . For this reason, he has warned that in the event of every "attack" that Pedro Sánchez's Government perpetrates against the Constitution, his party will denounce it "until it is reversed."

This is how Feijóo spoke in his speech before the Popular Group - in a call not included in the party's public forecasts and which the PP has later disseminated - before the debate to take into consideration the amnesty law proposal in the Plenary Session of Congress, in which he himself will rise to the speakers' platform to defend his party's position.

The leader of the PP has indicated that this afternoon a "regrettable" plenary session is being held for Spain. "No one expects us to bow our heads when we are risking democracy in our country," he stated, adding that "there is something worse than giving criminals impunity" and that is "proving them right."

In his opinion, that is what the amnesty law does and it is what "neither the PP nor the vast majority of Spaniards" will "never" accept. "If they are going to give impunity in exchange for votes, not in the name of Spain. If they are going to be corrupted, not in the name of Spain. And to say no in the name of Spain, we will speak on behalf of the millions of Spaniards who have voted. And also on behalf of many millions who did not do so, but want a democratic, legal and moral response to this amnesty law," he added.

That said, he has warned that the PP will denounce "every attack that Sánchez perpetrates against the Constitution" until "it is reversed." "Every time they trample on equality between Spaniards, we will defend it. Every inch they build in their wall of hate against half of Spain, we will do everything possible to tear it down," he highlighted.
