Feijóo expects an 'Andalusia effect' in the general elections with more transfer of voters from PSOE and Vox in the final stretch

PAMPLONA, 15 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP and candidate for the Presidency of the Government, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, expects an 'Andalusia effect' in the general elections on July 23 with more transfer of voters from PSOE and Vox in the final stretch of the campaign, as happened to the Andalusian Juanma Moreno in the regional elections in June last year, which allowed him to reach a comfortable absolute majority in his community.

In an informal chat of more than an hour with the journalists who follow the PP caravan on the campaign bus, Feijóo admits that the party manages electoral 'tracking' that places it above 150 seats and hopes that these will spread even more. days his appeal to the useful vote, the main 'mantra' in all his rallies.

The 'popular' candidate does not see an absolute majority as impossible but admits that it is difficult to achieve. The objective of the 'popular' is to scratch support in the provinces that distribute four or five seats, so that they can reach the twenty seats that the PP "needs" to form a large majority and govern alone.

Feijóo, who two months after becoming president of the PP toured Andalusia in support of Moreno, considers that the 'Andalusia effect' exists because, as he explained, there are many Vox and PSOE voters who can now support the PP in the polls to evict Pedro Sánchez de Moncloa. In fact, in the case of the Socialists, this transfer is already between 8-10% and he is confident that it will increase in the last week.

The PP leader does not lose hope that, if he wins on July 23, the PSOE can abstain in the investiture debate or count on support such as the PNV or the Canary Islands Coalition to avoid the pact with Vox.

In fact, he wonders if the PSOE are not going to change their minds and accept that the Government of Spain be blocked as happened in the 2016 general elections. Then, as he recalls, the PSOE led by Pedro Sánchez said "it is not no" to Mariano Rajoy and the general elections were repeated again.

The leader of the PP, who will spend the last week insisting on the useful vote, admits that the heat is the first uncertainty they face on July 23 because they have never voted in Spain with more than 35 degrees in many provinces and maybe with a red alert in some territories.

Feijóo does not believe that it will penalize him not to attend the three-way debate that will be held on April 19 on RTVE, which will be attended by the socialist candidate, Pedro Sánchez, the vice president and candidate of Sumar, Yolanda Díaz, and the leader of Vox, Santiago abascal.

The president of the PP, who defends a seven-person debate with those candidates but also with the leaders of the ERC, PNV or Bildu who have been Sánchez's partners in this legislature, has made it clear that he is not willing to play the game of the Socialists that Sánchez goes with his vice president and Feijóo with his, alluding to Abascal.
