Feijóo censors "the childish and populist politics" of Sánchez and Vox in the motion: "I offer a policy for adults"

MADRID, 23 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has justified his absence from the debate on Vox's motion of no confidence by assuring that he will not lend himself to "this type of game" that "discredits" the institutions. Having said this, he has censored the " childish and populist politics" that, in his opinion, has been displayed this week in the plenary session of Congress during the "gross" motion that presented the economist Ramón Tamames as a candidate.

"I offer a normal Spain and a policy for adults," he proclaimed in an appearance before the media in Brussels, after attending the meeting of the European People's Party (EPP), prior to the European Council. After meeting last night with the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, the head of the opposition has also met with the president of Latvia, Arturs Krisjani, and the president of Les Republicains, Éric Ciotti, among others.

Feijóo considers that in the "spectacle" of the motion it has become "clear" that there are "two different visions of politics" and has admitted that during his visit to Brussels his "colleagues" from the PPE have asked him "what this matter consisted of ".

In addition, he has justified his absence by ensuring that he will not lend himself to "this type of game" that "discredits" the institutions. "I do not share this way of doing politics and, therefore, I have abstracted myself from this absurdity that we have experienced in our country and I have dedicated myself to reinforcing the alternative, to rebuilding the international image of Spain and to making a policy that is what is deserves Spain", has asserted.

The leader of the PP has made ugly the president of the Government who took advantage of his intervention to give a "macro rally" and that his vice president Yolanda Díaz has used it to "appropriate" Podemos.

According to Feijóo, "in this simulation" of a motion, what they have seen is that "attachment to office" is the "only glue of the broken government coalition." And the PP, he has continued, is not going to lend itself to "propping up the Government" or "following" parties like Vox, but rather follows its own "path" and "agenda".

"Spain deserves to turn the page quickly after these four years of frivolity and populism, mixed with independence, and return to serious politics," he added, to emphasize that he "is not going to sell the Spanish a happy Arcadia" because for That "is already the current populism" that exists in the Government and in some opposition parties.
