Feijóo accuses Sánchez of blocking the negotiation of PP and PSOE to govern Ceuta in coalition

Gamarra criticizes that he does it on vacation in Morocco and Bendodo calls it "superb"

The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has blamed this Friday the socialist leader and acting president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, for "blocking" the negotiation between PP and PSOE in Ceuta to govern the autonomous city in coalition.

Feijóo has criticized that Sánchez "blocks an agreement for the stability" of the autonomous city and has established the PP as a "State party" that is committed to "strengthening social cohesion and protecting citizens." Faced with the "interest" - he has differentiated - of the acting president "to stay in power."

The president of the PP has also highlighted that Ceuta, which he has described as an example of coexistence between cultures and religions, is chaired by a "statesman", the 'popular' Juan Jesús Vivas, to whom "all" the party support.

This is how Feijóo reacted on Twitter once yesterday the PSOE of Ceuta denied that there was an agreement with the 'popular'. "Currently there is not and cannot be a government pact with the Feijóo PP," said the leader of the Ceuta socialists, Juan Gutiérrez, emphatically.

The Ceuta PSOE aspired to gain at least three councils and the reins of several municipal companies to enter the Government of Vivas, which ruled out Vox as a possible partner considering that their positions pose a threat to coexistence in Ceuta.

Like Feijóo, the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, has reproached Sánchez for only offering the country "instability and blockade at all levels."

"The Socialists of Ceuta wanted to agree for the general interest, but Sánchez only seeks his own interest. He is above Ceuta. Sánchez activates his 'no is no' even from Morocco", Gamarra added in a note on the same network social and alluding to the vacation destination of the Chief Executive.

The general coordinator of the PP, Elías Bendodo, has also accused him of putting a stop to a great coalition in the city. "Pedro Sánchez's arrogance blocks even the pacts of his own party, as he has just done in Ceuta," he said on Twitter.

For his part, Vivas has reminded Sánchez of the loyalty he had with the central government before the arrival of thousands of migrants in Ceuta in May 2021, just a week after Morocco warned that the reception in Spain for humanitarian reasons of the leader of the Polisario, Brahim Ghali, could have consequences.

"If someone was loyal to the Government when the assault from Morocco in May 2021 was me. This is the payment that Ceuta receives," criticized the president of the autonomous city.

The PP won the elections in Ceuta on May 28 by obtaining nine of the 25 deputies in the Assembly, like the last legislature. The PSOE achieved six (one less), five Vox (before it had six), three MDyC (one more) and two Ceuta Ya! (since 2019 it only had one).
