Escrivá responds to CEOE that the pension reform will only raise the labor cost per hour by 37 cents

MADRID, 15 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, stated this Wednesday that the second phase of the pension reform will only raise labor costs per hour worked by 38 euro cents.

In statements to the press in the halls of Congress, Escrivá thus responded to the CEOE's criticism that the reform burdens the increase in Social Security income on the backs of companies and workers.

Specifically, the minister stressed that the average labor cost per hour worked in Spain, currently at 25.4 euros, will rise to 25.5 euros in the first years of the reform and will reach 25.8 euros in 2050." It is a rise of 37 cents," the minister emphasized.

Escrivá has been "optimistic" about the result of the meeting of the management bodies of the CCOO and UGT, meeting at 11:00 this Wednesday to decide whether or not to support this pension reform.

Regarding the endorsement of Brussels, the minister has indicated that the European Commission will rule on this second phase of the pension reform when Spain requests the fourth disbursement of European funds, although he has assured that he is "100% convinced" that your analysis will be favourable.

Regarding whether the reform could be modified in Parliament, the minister stated that "there is always a path" and he trusts that the different political forces will give their support to the text.
