ERC requests the release of the four detainees for alleged threats against the Vuelta

LLEIDA, 27 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president and the general secretary of ERC, Oriol Junqueras and Marta Rovira, have requested the release of the four detainees in the Solsonès region (Lleida) for alleged threats against the Cycling Tour of Spain, which began in Barcelona and passes through Catalonia these days.

Junqueras has criticized that the Police act "against fundamental freedoms and human rights."

Rovira has dismissed the arrests as persecution of the independence movement and "political repression."
