ERC assures that the amnesty will cover from November 2011 and includes terrorism except torture or intentional deaths

The agreement between PSOE, ERC and Junts establishes that the amnesty law will cover, as of November 1, 2011, all those accused of 1-O in the Court of Accounts (TCu) and those accused of terrorism with the exception of crimes with torture or intentional deaths, ERC sources report.

This implies that the new rule will cover "all acts of Democratic Tsunami, as the previous wording already did," states the group, which considers that it is a solid and robust law that covers all causes derived from 1-O.

They consider that this Wednesday's agreement incorporates some improvements although in fundamental aspects the law remains as it was, which is why they regretted that "the two months of delay have caused, for example, some trials to be held that could have been stopped." and give scope to the persecutory actions of judges like García Castellón".

The group believes that it has been "a guarantee that what is agreed covers everyone and has legal certainty and can pass the filters of justice," and has celebrated the advancement of this law that they remember they have defended for five years.

"The amnesty law is a success that allows us to confront repression. It also allows us to move forward on the path of negotiation to achieve an agreed referendum and make independence possible," the Republicans have assessed.
