Endesa increases the number of beneficiaries of the social bonus by 44% since 2020

Endesa has increased the number of beneficiaries of the social bonus by 44% compared to 2020, the year the pandemic broke out, which means that almost 536,000 Spanish households that are customers of the company have this help, which reduces between 40% and 80% the electricity bill on the voluntary price for small consumers (PVPC).

To promote the social bonus, Endesa ensures that it carries out "proactive advice" to organizations and institutions with the aim of reaching all entities close to the final consumer and informing them of the existence of the aid, regulatory changes and how to request it.

In fact, in 2022 up to 367 advisory actions were carried out and for this year the entity "follows the same path".

The extraordinary measures approved by the Government due to the pandemic and the energy crisis have boosted the increase in beneficiaries of the social bonus. In this context, in just over two and a half years, Endesa has added 165,000 customers signed up to this bonus and, so far this year, the figure stands at 63,000 more families than at the end of 2022.

Of the total number of households benefiting from the social bonus at the end of July, around 240,500 are 'vulnerable' families, which is why they have a 65% reduction in their electricity consumption bill (or 40% if they have the temporary energy justice bonus ), while more than 295,200 are 'severely vulnerable' and benefit from an 80% reduction.

Regarding their typology, 65.3% of Endesa's customers with a social bonus are people in a situation of vulnerability due to income; 27.2%, large families; 4.9%, pensioners; 0.9%, beneficiaries of the minimum vital income; and 1.7%, low-income households particularly affected by the energy crisis.
