The Egyptian authorities have affirmed this Thursday that there are talks underway with the Government of Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) with the aim of extending the temporary truce in the Gaza Strip for another two days, hours after the parties They reached an agreement at the last minute to extend the truce for another day, which will expire tomorrow if there is no new agreement.

The head of Egypt's State Information Service, Diaa Rashwan, has indicated that Cairo and Doha are maintaining contacts with the parties with the aim of achieving a ceasefire and the release of more hostages taken by Hamas during its attacks on September 7. October and of prisoners in Israeli jails, as well as for the delivery of more humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.

In this sense, Rashuan has called on Israel and Hamas to comply with the agreement and has announced that Egypt "will do everything possible" to guarantee the delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the Gaza Strip, including the north of the territory, the epicenter of the offensive. military launched by Israel after the Hamas attacks, as reported by the Egyptian newspaper 'Al Ahram'.
