DyJ denounces Bildu senator-elect Mario Zubiaga for encouraging terrorism and humiliating victims

MADRID, 28 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Dignity and Justice (DyJ) has filed a complaint against Mario Zubiaga, elected senator of Bildu for Guipúzcoa in the elections last Sunday, for alleged crimes of exalting terrorism and humiliating the victims due to a 'tweet' where he describes as "deep logic" that "the young fools" took up arms in 1958.

"The deep logic of our town: 1958, the 'young fools' of then took up the weapons left behind by the tired fathers of 1939, to renew the town. 2023, the 'sensible young men' of today have taken up the votes lost by tired fathers , to revitalize the city. Each time, his own", reads the message published by Zubiaga on July 26 in Basque.

For the president of DyJ, Daniel Portero, who signs the complaint, this 'tweet' supposes "a clear justification of the terrorism that the terrorist organization ETA has carried out in more than 50 years of history, under the creation of a speech in the that the armed struggle is understood as a necessary instrument for the achievement of its political objectives and, therefore, the necessity of all the murders and terrorist crimes committed".

In addition, it recalls that "there are numerous resolutions that have been issued condemning acts of similar characteristics, since the justification of terrorist actions and criminal violence carried out by the terrorist organization ETA cannot be framed within ideological freedom or freedom of expression."

"It supposes a justification of the terrorist crimes and of who commits them, in addition to being a clear offense and humiliation for the victims of terrorism", says Portero.

Consequently, the association of victims of terrorism urges the corresponding court to open an investigation in this regard and take a statement as accused Zubiaga.
