The second vice president and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, has not ruled out the possibility that the Government will once again present the anti-crisis decrees in an extraordinary Council of Ministers if they do not go ahead this Wednesday, arguing that on one occasion a royal decree that the Executive processed again and obtained approval from Congress.

Questioned in an interview in La Sexta, collected by Europa Press, about the option of convening an extraordinary Council of Ministers to prevent the decline of the social measures approved in the decrees, Díaz said that "if other interests take precedence" other than " people's lives", the Executive "will continue to gain rights" as it "always does".

"It has happened on one occasion, as you know, that a royal decree fell and we presented it again and we managed to move it forward," continued the leader of Sumar, who stressed that the Government "is in favor of rights" and that others "have to be responsible for their actions."

However, the Minister of Labor has pointed out that the Executive's intention is to "negotiate until the last moment" for the "good of our country", so thinking about what the Government should do if the decrees are not approved "is the worst case scenario." "We are going to work until the last minute," she added.

Díaz has not closed the door on resubmitting the decrees, in the same way that he has announced that "next Friday" the Minimum Interprofessional Wage (SMI) will be raised "a lot." "This is the reality of the facts and I believe the rest are reasons that have to do with issues outside people's lives," he added.

On the other hand, the leader of Sumar has revealed that in "last moments" but "not today" she has spoken with the former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont with the aim of getting Junts to support the decrees presented by the Government.

He stressed that the Executive is working with the parties to reach an agreement and believes that "it is possible", which is why they will insist until the last minute. "And everything we have to improve, we must improve," she said.

The vice president has stressed that the investiture partners who vote against the decrees will do so together with PP and Vox and against the general interest. "Politics does not solve people's problems," she stressed.
