Dani Alves goes to court this Wednesday for his prosecution for alleged sexual assault

You can testify before the judge in the procedure prior to taking the case to trial

BARCELONA, 1 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The footballer Dani Alves must go this Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. to the Investigating Court 15 of Barcelona, which has already finished the investigation against him for allegedly sexually assaulting a young woman at the Sutton nightclub, where the judge will notify him of his prosecution.

As usual, this process will be done behind closed doors because it is part of the investigation of the case, a part of the process that is not public, unlike the trial.

Once the judge informs him of the prosecution, Alves will have the opportunity to testify, or to abstain and let his lawyer present his arguments in his defense brief.

The next step will be for the Prosecutor's Office and the private prosecution to present their indictments with their requests for penalties, and the defense will be able to answer them with their brief before the trial.

Alves has been in provisional prison since January 20, so on Wednesday he will arrive in the City of Justice led by the Mossos d'Esquadra from Brians 2 prison, in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona).

The defense has repeatedly tried to get the player out of provisional prison and await trial in freedom, but both the instructor and the Barcelona Court have ruled it out because they believe there is a risk of him escaping and enough evidence against him to keep him in jail until let it be judged

Alves allegedly assaulted the young woman in the bathroom of a Sutton booth on the night of December 30, 2022, and among the evidence in the case are the nightclub's security cameras (which do not record inside the bathroom and that accusations and defenses interpreted differently to support their theses), the fingerprints in the cubicle and the remains of Alves' DNA in the woman's body.

The player began by denying that he knew the girl, but later stated that they had consensual sex and justified that at the beginning he had supposedly lied to hide his infidelity from his partner.
