Criteria Caixa intensifies the purchase of Telefónica shares in August and invests almost 65 million in 2023

So far in August, it has invested almost 16 million euros in 4.41 million operator titles

Criteria Caixa, the 'holding' of the La Caixa Banking Foundation, has vigorously resumed the purchase of Telefónica shares in August and has already invested almost 65 million euros in the purchase of 17.54 million shares of the telecommunications operator so far this year, according to the records of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) consulted by Europa Press.

Specifically, the shareholding package that the entity chaired by Isidro Fainé - who is also vice president of Telefónica's board of directors - has acquired so far this year is equivalent to 0.3% of the total number of titles of the operator.

In this sense, as of June 30, 2023, Criteria Caixa's stake in Telefónica's shareholding stood at 2.4%, according to what appears on the holding's website.

The latest records that appear in the CNMV, from this same Monday, indicate that the entity chaired by Isidro Fainé has acquired between August 22 and 25 a total of 680,000 shares for an amount of 2.49 million euros.

In the absence of notification of possible operations that may take place until the last day of this month, Criteria Caixa intensified its purchase of Telefónica shares in August with the acquisition of 4.41 million shares (25.13% of the total so far this year) and an investment of almost 16 million euros.

However, last June was the most intensive month in terms of the purchase of Telefónica shares by Criteria Caixa, since in that period it acquired 5.13 million shares, with an investment of 19 million euros .

In January it invested 13.43 million euros (3.77 million shares), in February one million euros (277,000 shares), in March the amount rose to 6.27 million euros (1.63 million shares). ), in April they were 1.13 million euros (284,281 shares), in May the investment amounted to 7 million euros (1.79 million shares) and in July it was 940,500 euros (240,000 shares).

Thus, the average price for the purchase of Telefónica shares by Criteria Caixa so far this year stands at 3.77 euros, a figure that is above the 3.68 euros per share at which it closed the company's price last Friday, but in the environment of the 3,745 euros in which the operator moved at noon this Monday.
