Canelo Álvarez threatens Messi for an alleged insult to the Mexican shirt

"That I ask God that I don't find him"

MADRID, 28 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Mexican boxer Saúl 'Canelo' Álvarez has accused the Argentine international Leo Messi of wearing the shirt of the Mexican soccer team to "clean the floor", after the match on Saturday between the two teams in the World Cup in Qatar, and has threatened him for what he considers an outrage to the symbols of his country.

"Did you see Messi cleaning the floor with our shirt and flag? Pray to God that he doesn't find me! Just as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico. I'm not talking about the country, Argentina, I'm talking about Messi because of the blowjob he gave did," he wrote on his official account on the social network Twitter.

After Argentina's victory over 'Tri' (2-0), a celebratory video of the Albiceleste players in the locker room after the game circulated on social networks; in it Messi can be seen wearing a Mexico jersey next to him on the ground, which he kicks, apparently unintentionally, when he tries to remove a boot.

However, the multi-world super middleweight champion understood this action as an offense against Mexico and its symbols. "Since the Mexico shirt is on the ground it's already an insult, stop bullshitting about what was or wasn't," he said. "Whoever does not defend his homeland is an asshole. Fanaticism is one thing, your identity is another. Long live Mexico, bastards," he added.

Mexico, with only one point in Group C, needs to beat Saudi Arabia and hope for a favor from Poland, which faces Argentina on the last day, to advance to the round of 16.
