Brazilians Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles miss the remainder of the World Cup due to injury

DOHA, Dec. 3 (dpa/EP) -

Forward Gabriel Jesus and defender Alex Telles will no longer participate with Brazil in the World Cup in Qatar after suffering knee injuries, the Brazilian sports website GloboEsporte.com reported this Saturday.

According to the information, the medical examinations that the Arsenal attacker and the Sevilla defender underwent after the defeat of the 'canarinha' on Friday against Cameroon (1-0) revealed that both suffered knee injuries.

Gabriel Jesus was already in pain before the World Cup and his recovery should last about a month, which will prevent him from playing the rest of the World Cup. Alex Telles, who left the pitch on Friday in tears after colliding with an opponent, may need surgery.

Brazil's disabled list also includes right-back Danilo, left-back Alex Sandro and Paris Saint-Germain striker Neymar. The defenders are expected to be available for Monday's round of 16 match against South Korea, but Neymar remains a doubt.
