Biden and Netanyahu talk about creating a safe passage to evacuate foreigners trapped in Gaza

MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, held a conversation this Wednesday with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, about the creation of a safe passage to evacuate foreign citizens trapped in the Gaza Strip in the face of the imminent Army invasion. Israeli.

In relation to this, Biden has reiterated his support for the continuous flow of humanitarian aid to the enclave, besieged and blocked by Israel since the incursion of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the south of the country on October 7.

"The president has spoken of the United States' ongoing support for the continued flow of humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Gaza and has welcomed efforts to increase this support over the coming period," the White House said.

On the other hand, he has pointed out the importance of creating permanent peace conditions between Israelis and Palestinians once the current war is over.

In that sense, he has emphasized that Hamas does not represent the Palestinians or their aspirations. Although the United States supports Israel, its largest ally in the Middle East, its position regarding the conflict is the two-state solution.

The two leaders have also discussed efforts to locate and secure the release of the more than 200 Hamas hostages, who were captured during the militia's assault.
