Between 93,000 and 450,000 demonstrators in the tenth general strike against the pension reform in Paris

The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) has recorded this Tuesday nearly 450,000 demonstrators in the framework of the tenth general strike against the approved pension reform, a figure that has been lowered by the authorities to 93,000 people.

These figures therefore represent a decreasing participation, since on the last day of the general strike, held last Thursday, the unions registered at least 800,000 protesters compared to the 119,000 recorded by the French authorities.

The Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, specified this Tuesday before the National Assembly that he has "total confidence" in the French Police, which has deployed up to 5,500 agents on the streets of the capital.

For the moment, the French Police have arrested 23 people in Paris and have carried out up to 10,000 checks on the sidelines of the demonstration, which has passed normally, although there have been some incidents, the newspaper 'Le Figaro' has reported.

Protests have also taken place in other cities in France, such as Lyon, where police have had to disperse protesters -- up to 12,500, according to prefectural figures -- with tear gas and water cannons.

According to the latest count of the French authorities, 740,000 protesters have demonstrated this Tuesday throughout France in points such as Rennes, Nantes, Nice or Saint Nazaire, where the participation figures have also decreased, as reported by TF1 Info.
