Belgium stumbles before Qatar, with Hazard and De Bruyne headlines

MADRID, 18 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Belgian team lost (1-2) this Friday against Egypt, in a friendly match in Kuwait in which the 'Red Devils', with Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne in the starting lineup, were unable to overcome the team of Mohamed Salah, in the last preparatory game for the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

Egypt took a valuable away win and tested the defensive solidity of Roberto Martínez's team, who was unable to surprise the African team, who did not qualify for the World Cup. Mostafa and Trezeguet scored for the 'pharaohs', with an assist from Salah in the second, and Lois Openda made up the result with a goal in the last quarter of an hour.

Belgium paid for its lack of effectiveness and, although the Spanish coach started many starters, such as Real Madrid striker Hazard, very discreet in his interventions, he missed some of those names. De Bruyne could not impose his quality either, while Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku or Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois did not play.

Now, Roberto Martínez's men will look to Qatar to erase this setback on their way in a World Cup that may be the last date for a batch of footballers already in full maturity and who will be the rival to beat in Group F that they share with Croatia , Morocco and Canada, and that will intersect with that of Spain and Germany.
