Barça ends with Levante undefeated in the F League

MADRID, 30 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

FC Barcelona consolidated its sole lead in the Finetwork Liga F women's football after beating Levante UD 2-1 with great effort, which allowed Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid and Madrid CFF to become their main pursuers thanks to their respective victories against Sevilla (2-0), Athletic Club (1-4) and UDG Tenerife (2-0), after the dispute this weekend of the seventh day of the championship.

At the Johan Cruyff, the current champion surely had his most demanding match of this season because he ran into the resistance of a 'granota' team that rushed their options to add something positive until the end and continue with their undefeated record.

Jonatan Giráldez's team did not have their best day offensively and they also found themselves on several occasions with the good work of María López. Even so, goals from Aitana Bonmatí and Norway's Ingrid Engen gave her a good advantage that she managed to maintain until the end despite Alba Redondo's goal just before half-time.

FC Barcelona maintains its full league title, while Levante UD lost its second place to the benefit of the three teams from Madrid that did not fail this weekend and are five points behind the Blaugrana.

Real Madrid, with one game less, took that second position after also winning with a lot of work 2-0 against a good Sevilla, who had their chances. A header from Rocío Gálvez after the hour mark and a great goal from Caroline Weir in the 95th minute put an end to Sevilla's resistance and were enough for the madridistas to extend their unbeaten streak at the Alfredo Di Stéfano, where they haven't lost since December of 2021.

Atlético de Madrid and Madrid CFF also added victories to continue hooked in the upper zone. The rojiblancas once again demonstrated their offensive power to come back from Athletic Club and win 1-4 with a brace from Ludmila da Silva and goals from Shei García and Lucía Moral, which left Marta Unzué's initial 1-0 scoreless. María Pry's team, meanwhile, defeated UDG Tenerife 2-0 at home with goals from Racheal Kundananji and Ana González.

In addition, Real Sociedad confirmed their good dynamics after easily winning the derby against Deportivo Alavés Gloriosas by 1-5. Amaiur Sarriegi and Gaby García scored two braces and Synne Jensen completed the scoring, while Sara Carrillo scored the local 'goal of honour'.

Valencia and Villarreal drew (1-1) in the regional derby with goals from Anita Marcos and Sheila Guijarro, and Levante Las Planas could not look up after losing 1-2 to Sporting Huelva with goals from Elsa Endgren and Sofia Hagman for the visitors and Mari Paz Vilas for the locals. Finally, a double by Ángela Sosa allowed Betis to add three valuable points in their visit to Alhama CF, which continues without opening its points locker.
