Civil organizations estimate the number of civilian deaths at more than 20

MADRID, 5 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Sudanese Army reported this Wednesday that at least nine people have died and 15 have been injured in a bombardment by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against a health center in the city of Bahri (Khartoum North), in the northern area of the Sudanese capital.

"The Rapid Support militia has bombed the Haj Saad mosque and the attached health center," Army spokesman Nabil Abdullah explained in a recording published on the Armed Forces' Facebook profile.

Abdullah has denounced that "this behavior has been repeated many times since the beginning of this unfortunate rebellion of continuous attacks against residential and civilian areas, where the militia has not hesitated to kill and injure innocents, committing war crimes."

However, local civil organizations have indicated that the death toll amounts to more than twenty, while the number of injured has not been specified, as reported by the 'Sudan Tribune' newspaper.

Hostilities broke out on April 15 amid rising tensions over the integration of the RSF into the Armed Forces, a key part of an agreement signed in December to form a new civilian government and reactivate the transition. opened after the overthrow of Omar Hasán al Bashir in 2019, damaged by the coup d'état carried out by the head of the Army, Abdel Fattá al Burhan, in October 2021, in which the prime minister of unity, Abdallah Hamdok, was overthrown.
