Zelensky promises a "forceful" response against Moscow

At least four people have died and nine others have been injured in an attack by Russian forces on a residential building in the Ukrainian city of Lviv, in the west of the country, near the border with Poland.

The Ministry of the Interior of Ukraine has communicated the number of victims, informing that there are still people under the rubble, so the authorities expect the preliminary balance to increase in the next few hours.

For his part, the mayor of Lviv, Andrei Sadovi, has indicated that "the street (...) will be closed until emergency workers remove the rubble and take out all the dead", in addition to around 60 apartments and 50 cars have been damaged.

Following this information, the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, has published a video of the attack in which "the consequences of the night attack by Russian terrorists" are seen. "Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded (...) There will definitely be a response to the enemy. A strong one," he asserted.

Hours earlier, the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksim Kozitski, pointed out that after the attack there was a fire that was quickly extinguished. "Firefighters, doctors and emergency services work on the scene. People receive all the necessary help," he said.

Kozitski, who has moved to the affected place, has remarked that Russia "targets" residential buildings, according to several messages published through Telegram in which he has added images and videos of the damaged building.

As a consequence of the attacks and during a large-scale air alert, power outages have begun in Lviv, recording interruptions in the supply of electricity and mobile communications.
