Asturias records 121 fires and 375 people evacuated

Asturias records 121 fires at 10:10 a.m. this Friday. A total of 375 people have been evacuated, including 65 residents of Fitoria, on the slopes of Monte Naranco, in Oviedo.

The council of Valdés concentrates the actions of extinction and assistance. SEPA firefighters from various parks, members of the Military Emergency Unit, the Tineo and Tabuyo BRIF, the latter displaced from León, and a MITECO Preventive Work Brigade remain mobilized there. The two FOCA seaplanes of the ministry and a SEPA Firefighters helicopter have also been activated for the area.

The N-634 and the A-8 motorway in Cadavedo (Valdés) have been blocked and there are no alternative detours. The N-634 between PK 492-592 in Trevías (Valdés), the N-632 between Ballota and Barcia (Valdés), the As-14 from Montefurado to Berducedo, the As-351 from Almuña to Merás and the AS-219 in Naraval. At this time no alternative diversions have been enabled. In addition, rail traffic in Cadavedo also remains cut off.
