Alexia: "I need the pressure to win"

MADRID, 5 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The FC Barcelona footballer Alexia Putellas, the current best player in the world and winner of, among other distinctions, two Ballon d'Ors, stated that she needs "pressure" to go out and win and is confident that the wages and conditions will match the men's soccer "it's a matter of time".

In an interview for Elle magazine, Alexia Putellas, who will star in 'Alexia: Labor Omnia Vincit', a three-episode Prime Video docuseries about her life, confessed that soccer was not always in her path.

"I didn't think of being a soccer player, because I didn't see women who were, and at no time did I propose it as a professional option. At home they always insisted that I had to take basic studies, but in extracurriculars they let me do what I wanted, so I signed up for football", he explained.

Regarding the situation of women's football, Putellas said that "in the end" it will be equal to that of men. "It's a matter of time. Men's football has been in our society for many years and women's football has entered, for historical reasons, much later. If everyone does their part, clubs, federations, players... I think it will can fix," he said.

He admitted that now, at 28 years old and with his resume, he has more "commitments", sponsors and more events than five years ago. "And more fans stop me on the street! In the world of sports we are passing through and one day we find ourselves up and the other down, so I try to accept naturally what I am, what I earn and what I have. I am aware that Tomorrow the most important thing will be my people," he said.

Alexia Putellas said she likes to "feel the pressure." "I need her to go out and win, otherwise I don't think she wouldn't perform the same. But I have good days and bad days, and the latter in team sports get along better," she said.

In his opinion, not everything is competing and training. "I like being with my family and my dog, going to the beach in the summer and having fun with my wardrobe partners. My physique is my work tool, so I worry about being well. And beyond my profession as well I like to take care of myself. Training we are very exposed to the sun, but we are aware of the importance of protecting ourselves", he stressed.
