Agriculture calls for aid for 4.75 million for the conservation, improvement and promotion of livestock breeds

MADRID, 5 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food published this Tuesday in the Official State Gazette (BOE), an extract of the order calling for aid for the conservation, improvement and promotion of livestock breeds for 4.75 million euros .

Specifically, this call is a commitment by the Government to support animal genetic resources managed by officially recognized associations, within the framework of the national program for the conservation, improvement and promotion of livestock breeds.

In this way, breeder associations officially recognized by Agriculture for the management of breeding programs will be eligible for these aid, under a competitive competition regime, in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 45/2019, of February 8, that comply with the requirements set forth in article 4 and the obligations of article 5 of Royal Decree 794/2021, of September 14.

The deadline for submitting applications is one month starting this Wednesday, the day after the publication of the extract of the call in the BOE and will be done through the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Agriculture has specified that the period to consider expenses as eligible for subsidies will cover a maximum from the date of submission of the application until December 31, 2024.
