A man arrested in Béjar (Salamanca) after allegedly killing his wife and threatening to jump from a viaduct

MADRID, 30 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The National Police have arrested a 49-year-old man after allegedly killing his wife in the town of Béjar (Salamanca). The man later threatened to jump from a viaduct on the A-66 motorway, as reported by the Salamanca Government sub-delegation.

The National Police received a call at 6:00 this morning from a man reporting that he had murdered his partner and was going to commit suicide. Police officers went to the couple's home and found a 36-year-old woman dead with a severe blow to the head.

Subsequently, around 7:30 a.m., with the collaboration of the Civil Guard, the police officers arrested the alleged attacker after managing to convince him to go down the viaduct by his own means.

The detainee had complaints from 2005 for domestic violence against his father and brother. The murdered woman had filed complaints for ill-treatment towards her previous partners but none towards her alleged murderer.
