It was one of the first major cases that brought the aspiring and young Bitcoin community in turmoil: the (proverbial) in the case of the Japanese crypto-trading exchange Mt.Gox. The exchange, which was originally based on a trade of space for game cards, suddenly had to contend with heavy losses. The amount of 650,000 to 850,000 Bitcoin (BTC) were suddenly gone. The (alleged) reason: a Hack of the stock exchange.

In the course of which the company announced bankruptcy. That was already in the year 2014. In the meantime, considerable doubts as to the credibility of the story. The operator of the stock exchange, Mark Karpelès, was in strong suspicion, to have the Bitcoin embezzled. (Here's the whole Story).

In August 2018, the company introduced a new System for the compensation test. Then the announcement:

We hereby announce our [...] Online Rehabilitation Claim System on Mt.Gox's Website, which users of Mt.Gox entitled to, among other things, to have their compensation claims [...] check. We also start to accept compensation claims offline – for users who are not able to make their claims online via the System asserted.

As you can see from an official document of the former Bitcoin exchange, however, came in the Wake of its decisions. In this respect, the stock market hit now, apparently, decisions about possible refunds of a total of 24,000 debtors. The respective debtor had according to the same information now E-Mails via any of the benefits.
