Ukraine's attorney general travels to the US to demand that "Russian crimes" be prosecuted

MADRID, 30 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Attorney General of Ukraine, Andrei Kostin, traveled to the United States on Monday to meet with senior government officials and demand that "Russian crimes" committed within the framework of the invasion be prosecuted.

In an interview with Fox News, he indicated that "Ukraine will not allow impunity for crimes of corruption" and he said he felt "infinitely grateful to the partners for their support." "We have to guarantee that all the help reaches those who need it," Kostin asserted.

Thus, he has underlined the importance of the work of the Ukrainian authorities and the security forces, who "have not stopped working for a single day despite the challenges", as he has indicated in his Telegram account.

Kostin is scheduled to meet with several senior US officials to "ensure that international crimes are prosecuted and an International Tribunal is created to try Russian leaders, as well as a compensation mechanism for the victims of aggression."

The prosecutor had warned on previous occasions that the crimes of corruption committed during the war "are equivalent to crimes of looting."
