Ukraine denounces a new wave of attacks with Russian drones in the east and south of the country

MADRID, 29 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian Army has reported a new wave of Russian drone strikes in the eastern and southern regions of the country overnight on Wednesday.

The first of the four drones was heading to the Nikolaev region while the rest were targeting Zaporizhia and Dnipro, the Ukrainian news agency Unian has learned.

Later, several groups of these devices were also registered heading for Kharkiv and Poltava. Many of them were shot down by the Ukrainian military forces, as reported by the aforementioned media.

According to the Russian authorities, these devices would be the Iranian-made 'Shahed' kamikaze drones, claims that are denied by Tehran.

Thus, earlier this week, the head of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohamad Hosein Baqeri, called the accusations of allegedly sending drones to Russia for use in the framework of the invasion of Ukraine "psychological warfare".

Baqeri blamed the accusations on "global arrogance" and said that "it is part of the psychological warfare of the enemy", while stressing that the fact that these accusations are made is proof of the "great influence" and "importance " of the drone industry in Iran, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.

The official said that Iran is one of the five main powers in this field, adding that the authorities will continue to increase the capabilities of its drones. "In line with the decisions and guidelines of the Islamic Republic, we will continue to cooperate with other countries in the drone industry," he concluded.
