Ukraine confirms contacts with anti-war groups inside Russia

MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that they are in contact with the groups within Russia that are interested in stopping the military aggression and hindering the war started eight months ago by President Vladimir Putin.

The spokesman for the communication services of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Andri Yusov, said on state television that "the fate of Russia is in the hands of the Russians themselves.

"Anyone who really cares about the future of Russia must understand that the sooner Putin leaves, the sooner his regime leaves, the better the country will be," Yusov said when asked about the sabotage that some opposition groups such as Stop the Wagons are being carried out to hinder the supply of weapons to the Russian troops.

"Ukraine has its national interests, there are many political refugees from Russia in Ukraine and, of course, we are in contact with all those who seek to protect international law and stop Russian aggression," Yusov confirmed, promising the dissemination of "details interesting" when the war is over.

This Tuesday, October 25, the group known as Stop the Wagons claimed responsibility for a dynamite attack on a railway as it passed through Novozibkovo, a small Russian town a few kilometers from the border with Belarus.

The attack is at least the sixth against Russian rail infrastructure since June. Stop the Wagons, which celebrated the results of "this little sabotage" on Telegram, seeks to prevent the transport of equipment, fuel, ammunition and other supplies for the war in Ukraine.

The Russian Army relies heavily on its rail infrastructure to transport its military equipment and personnel to Ukraine. However, its more than 33,000 kilometers of network pass through widely isolated areas, which makes it very difficult to establish a complete security system.
