Ukraine claims to have shot down nearly 500 Iranian-made Russian drones since September

MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian authorities have affirmed this Tuesday that they have shot down some 500 drones launched by the Russian Army and manufactured in Iran since last September during the invasion of the territory.

Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force command, has stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces "will be ready." "We shot down the drones", he highlighted, before detailing that 84 drones "were intercepted and shot down in two days". "100% have been destroyed by Ukrainian forces," he asserted.

"This type of result has never been achieved before. The number of intercepted drones is almost 500 since mid-September," he said, according to information from the Ukrinform news agency.

Thus, he has assured that "if they continue bombing at this rate, the information collected by our Intelligence services shows that at least half of the 250 drones that make up a new battery have been used."

However, he has urged not to underestimate the danger of these drones since Russia "may receive a new battery of these devices from Iran, so Ukraine is preparing for new massive attacks."

Ignat has also indicated that the enemy is "deliberately using cheap Iranian drones to deal with Ukrainian air defense systems and put pressure on citizens."
