Two civilians injured in a Russian attack on a skyscraper in the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk

MADRID, 15 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

At least two civilians have been injured this Wednesday by the impact of a projectile fired by Russian forces against a skyscraper in the Ukrainian city of Pokrovsk, located in the Donetsk region (east), as denounced by the authorities.

"The Russians have attacked Pokrovsk and hit a skyscraper, injuring at least two civilians," Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kirilenko said. "Rescuers have managed to get two people out of the entrance, which has been destroyed. Rescue operations are underway and the consequences of the attack are being clarified," he said in his Telegram account.

The Donetsk region, partially occupied by Russian troops, has been the main epicenter for weeks of the Moscow offensive, which announced in September that it was annexing this territory along with the Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions. The decision was rejected outright by the international community.
