The US incorporates 25 prosecutors to verify that the sanctions against Russia are complied with

These are added to the current team of the Department of Justice to increase controls on those who try to evade sanctions

MADRID, 3 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The United States Department of Justice has announced the hiring of 25 more prosecutors to increase controls related to the sanctions imposed on Russia, as confirmed by the 'number two' of the US judicial body, Matt Olsen.

It is part of efforts to ensure that companies and third parties do not help Russia evade sanctions, after having found that, so far, such violations by some companies have occurred "often".

In February, a group dedicated exclusively to the control of these illegal exports in the field of technology was created, so that they did not have foreign countries or entities in conflict with the United States as their final destination.

A week ago, Washington announced a new package of sanctions, the toughest yet, against more than a hundred individuals and entities associated with Russia's metallurgical, mining, financial, technological and military sectors, as well as against 30 citizens and entities from other countries accused of collaborating with Moscow, in one of the most forceful measures of this caliber since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine a year ago.
