The United States does not detect cyberattacks that could affect the elections

MADRID, 8 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The authorities of the United States have not detected significant activities of 'hackers' that could jeopardize the reliability of the elections that are held this Tuesday and that will have, as the main epicenter, the total renovation of the House of Representatives and a third part of the Senate.

A spokesman for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) said Tuesday that "there are still no specific or credible threats that could jeopardize the election infrastructure," according to CNN. .

The authorities only foresee minor cyberattacks, which, despite the fact that they may cause specific blockades, will not prevent voters from exercising their right to vote throughout the day. "We continue to have a lot of confidence in the security of the elections," the spokesman stressed.

The security of computer systems has become one of the key aspects in the preparation and development of electoral processes throughout the world, including in the United States, which in recent years has promoted sanctions against groups of 'hackers' linked to Russia or North Korea.
