The Ukrainian Army shoots down 45 drones of alleged Iranian origin on New Year

The Ukrainian Army has reported early this Sunday that on New Year's Eve Russian troops have attacked Ukrainian territory with drones of alleged Iranian manufacture, which has resulted in the downing of 45 unmanned aerial vehicles.

This was reported by the Air Force Command of the Ukrainian troops on its Telegram profile, adding that at least 45 drones have been shot down: thirteen in 2022 and 32 in 2023, according to the Ukrinform news agency.

On the other hand, the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Yaroslav Yanushevich, has reported that Russian troops have bombarded the region up to 40 times during the morning, which has resulted in three injuries.

In the framework of the attacks carried out the day before, the head of the Khmelnitsky regional military administration has reported that a 22-year-old girl has died in hospital from injuries as a result of a bombardment during the day 31, as reported by the UNIAN news agency.
