The Supreme Decree published in an extraordinary edition of the official newspaper 'El Peruano' imposes mandatory social immobilization in their homes for all people in Huamanga, reports the Peruvian news agency Andina.

You can only leave the residence for the acquisition, production or supply of food or in the case of strictly necessary personnel who participate in the provision of health services, medicines, the continuity of water services, sanitation, agriculture, fishing and aquaculture, transportation, surveillance and security, shipments, restaurants and hotels, assistance, financial services, electricity, gas, telecommunications and related activities, fuels, cleaning and solid waste collection, funeral services and related activities.

The staff of the written press, radio or television may also circulate as long as they carry their personal work pass, journalistic credential and national identity document. The authorization is also extensive for mobile units used to fulfill their function.

In the same way, the movement with a private vehicle or pedestrian is allowed for those people who require urgent or emergency medical attention due to their life or health being at serious risk, as well as for the acquisition of medicines.

The legal text includes Police reports on "acts of violence and vandalism against public and private institutions", as well as "attacks against the personal integrity of citizens and authorities".

The declaration of the curfew is in turn covered by Supreme Decree 143-2022-PCM by which the state of emergency was declared nationwide for a period of 30 days during which the National Police maintains control of internal order with the support of the Armed Forces.

At least four of the nine who died in the clashes that took place last Thursday in Ayacucho have been buried this Saturday. The health authorities transferred to Lima seven injured and affected during the outbreak of violence in that town.
