The Bolivian dialogue table is broken and the national strike continues

MADRID, 23 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The dialogue between representatives of the Government of Bolivia and the promoters of the 2023 census has broken down this Saturday during the third meeting of the day, after the attempts of the Minister of the Presidency to reduce the issue to a technical debate have caused the governor of Santa Cruz abandon the conversation.

In the meeting that began around 5:00 p.m., the Government rejected the proposal for the draft decree presented by the legal advisor of the Interinstitutional Committee for the Promotion of the Census to carry out the registration in 2023, alleging that it is better to opt for a "complementary regulation approved at technical tables".

María Nela Prada has estimated that the table did not have the capacity to set a date for holding the Census since this decision had to meet technical criteria. The proposal of the promoters of the census seeks that in 2024 the results can be known and proceed to the redistribution of resources.

Given the position of the minister, the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, has decided to abandon the dialogue on the grounds that it was a "lack of respect for his people", according to 'El Deber'.

On the other hand, the rector of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University, Vicente Cuéllar, has chosen to remain at the table after which the Government has given him his proposal that they will submit to analysis.

In the conference after the meeting, Nela de Prada has asked "to take responsibility for their actions and their results" alluding to the deceased on the first day of unemployment this Saturday.
