Tax reform will be a priority for the Lula da Silva government in Brazil

The representative of Lula da Silva in the meeting with the banks this Friday, Fernando Haddad, has assured that the next government of the elected candidate will give priority to the tax reform, although he has not mentioned the fiscal anchor for the balance of accounts that will be discussed under the Proposed Amendment to the Constitution (PEC).

"We need, then, to get back on track, how is the State generated? Remembering that we already had governments that managed public affairs well, governments that managed to produce expressive results from the point of view of growth, income distribution, control of inflation, debt control, even without increasing the tax burden," Haddad highlighted, according to G1.

However, as reported by the same newspaper, investors have criticized that his pronouncement lacks more concrete signs of control of public accounts and the markets have reacted quickly so that the stock market has closed with a fall of 2.55 percent.

For the moment, until the inauguration of January, the core of the tasks of the next executive of the president-elect, who is recovering from a throat operation, is to obtain the support to carry out the Transition PEC. Specifically, Lula seeks to expand the budget for social programs.
