The border authorities of Hong Kong have reported the largest historical seizure of methamphetamine with a shipment of 1.8 tons of hidden liquid drug such as coconut water and that could have reached a price of 1,000 million Hong Kong dollars (about 128 million euros ).
The drug was in a shipment of coconut water from Mexico and destined for Australia. It was seized in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong, according to Hong Kong public television RTHK.
A spokesman for the Hong Kong Customs Office, Fong Heung Wing, explained that the secret services obtained the information about the shipment after verifying the unusual thing that a shipment of coconut water departed from Mexico.
The shipment was inspected last Sunday and it was found to be liquid methamphetamine. At the moment there have been no arrests, but it is believed that there are international criminal organizations involved, which is why work is already being done at the international level.
