Security forces regain control of Congress and the Brazilian presidential palace

MADRID, 8 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Brazilian security forces have managed to regain control of Congress and the Planalto Palace -- the presidential seat --, with which they have already expelled supporters of Jair Bolsonaro from the headquarters of the three state powers.

The agents of the Military Police have managed to regain control of Congress early at night using riot control means and stun grenades, reports 'O Globo'.

They have also displaced the assailants from the Planalto Palace, the presidential palace, although the protesters continue to concentrate on what is known as the Esplanade of the Ministries, connecting all these buildings, now contained by a security cordon of agents.

Previously, the security forces had evicted the protesters from the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court, where they have caused significant material damage.
