Russia monitors the use of mobile phones in Ukraine after the change of military command, according to British Intelligence

MADRID, 23 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The change of command in Russia's military deployment in Ukraine has resulted in greater vigilance over basic rules of discipline, from a ban on the use of mobile phones to the standardization of haircuts, according to British Intelligence services.

Russia acknowledged that the use of mobile phone services enabled the Ukrainian authorities to locate and shell a military position in Makivka, in the Donetsk region. Some 90 troops died, according to official data released by Moscow.

Since Russia took over this month the commander of its forces in Ukraine, now under the command of Valeri Gerasimov, one of the objectives is "to improve the discipline of the troops deployed on a day-to-day basis." More basic issues such as the uniform or the use of certain vehicles for transfers are monitored, according to British experts.

UK Intelligence has explained that these measures have been received in a "skeptical" manner and there would even be pro-Russian local authorities questioning whether Moscow puts image issues before other more relevant ones on the battlefield.

The founder of the Wagner Group, Yevgeni Prigozhin, who has offered the service of his mercenaries to the Kremlin, since he understands that "war is the time for the active and the brave, not for having a shaved head", would also have been reluctant. according to the latest British report.
