Russia insists to France that the Ukrainian Army could use a "dirty bomb" during the war

MADRID, 23 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has once again expressed concern that Ukraine may use a "dirty bomb" during the war in the future.

A dirty nuclear bomb, or "dirty bomb", as it is described by international organizations, is an explosive device capable of dispersing radioactive material, whose destructive capacity is significantly less than that of a nuclear weapon designed for this specific purpose but which, in all forms, represents a serious threat due to its polluting nature.

Russia had previously expressed its fear of this situation by accusing kyiv in October of trying to turn the Zaporizhia nuclear plant into a "dirty nuclear bomb" through constant attacks on the facilities and their surroundings, of which kyiv and Moscow They blame each other.

This Sunday, Shoigu has communicated to his French counterpart, Sebastian Lecornu, his concern about the possible use of this device given the "constant trend of uncontrolled intensification" that the conflict in Ukraine is exhibiting.

"Shoigu communicated to his French colleague his concerns about possible provocations by Ukraine, in particular, with the use of the so-called 'dirty bomb,'" according to a Russian Defense Ministry statement.

Ukraine has categorically rejected any attempt to use such weapons in its defense against Russian invasion.
