Russia detains four people suspected of planning terrorist attacks in the southwest of the country

MADRID, 28 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Russian Security Service (FSB) has reported this Friday the arrest of four people who allegedly planned to carry out terrorist attacks against Russian administrative facilities.

In a statement, the country's intelligence has indicated that the four would be linked to "Ukrainian radicals" and would have planned attacks in Stavropol, a city located in the southwest of the country.

"The detainees supported the Ukrainian nationalist ideology and its organizations," the FSB said, according to the Interfax news agency. His arrest follows a series of raids that have allowed security forces to seize weapons, explosive devices, products used to create incendiary materials and "protest and riot literature".

In addition, the authorities have announced the opening of a criminal case against them for alleged terrorism while they remain in police custody.
