NGOs estimate the deaths from the protests in Iran between 277 and 341, including at least 40 children

MADRID, 5 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Between 277 and 341 people have died since the outbreak almost two months ago of the protests against the Iranian authorities for the death in custody of the young Mahsa Amini for wearing the veil incorrectly.

According to the NGO Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), based in the United States, among the 341 deaths it notes there are at least 47 children and 38 members of the security forces. To this must be added some 14,000 detainees for the protests, which have spread to more than 130 locations in the country, according to their balance this Saturday, published on their Twitter account.

For its part, the NGO Iran Human Rights estimates the deaths at 277 until last Wednesday, including 40 under 18 years of age.

The organization, which recalls that these estimates are an "absolute minimum", finds deaths in 22 provinces, with the highest number reported in Sistan and Balochistan, Mazandaran, Tehran, Kurdistan and Gilan, respectively.

Official Iranian media reported approximately 40 dead as of the end of September, two weeks after Amini's death.
