Lula votes on the outskirts of Sao Paulo: "Today is the most important day of my life"

MADRID, 30 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Brazilian presidential candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has exercised his right to vote in the second round of the presidential elections held this Sunday in the town of Sao Bernardo do Campo, on the outskirts of Sao Paulo.

"Today is the most important day of my life," Lula declared from the Firmino Correia de Araújo State School, where supporters of the Workers' Party (PT) candidate have gathered and cheered him on.

"Today the people are defining the model of life they want. People need to rescue people who are hungry," he added, according to the newspaper 'Estadao'.

The second round this Sunday will not only decide who will be the new president and vice president, since the governors of twelve Brazilian states are still to be decided, including important political places such as Sao Paulo.

In the first round, Brazilians also completely chose the composition of the Chamber of Deputies and part of the Senate, with a predominantly conservative legislature where the formation for which Bolsonaro is running, the Liberal Party (PL), was the most voted option.
