Lula visits the scene of the riots in Brasilia

The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, is visiting Brasilia, which has been the scene this Sunday of an assault on the institutions by hundreds of Bolsonaro supporters.

Lula has visited the Planalto Palace, seat of the Federal Government, as well as the Supreme Court, where he has met with its president, Rosa Weber, and various ministers.

The president's visit has served to analyze the destruction of the offices of the powers, since the supporters of the former leader would have broken part of the patrimony, as the Brazilian television network O Globo has learned.

"The coup leaders who have promoted the destruction of public property in Brasilia are being identified and will be punished," Lula later explained, announcing that work will resume on Monday. "Democracy always", she has added herself.

Lula, in addition, has summoned this Monday the 27 governors of the Brazilian states to an emergency meeting to address the invasion of the headquarters of democratic institutions.
