Lula considers it "impossible" for Bolsonaro to win the elections

The former president and candidate for the Presidency of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), has been alert about the recent polls that show that the current Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), continues to close the gap, although he has highlighted that he considers "impossible" for his opponent to make a difference in a week.

Lula said this Thursday in Rio de Janeiro that the result of the Datafolha survey released the day before serves as a warning for his campaign, but he has shown confidence in victory considering that Bolsonaro has gained points "slowly", while the second round of the elections will take place on Sunday of next week, on October 30.

"I am aware of the survey and I think it is only a warning. There is little more than a week left in the campaign," he declared, as reported by the newspaper 'Folha de S.Paulo'.

The leader of the Workers' Party has assured that "the election is very even", so that the vote count "is becoming tighter".

"We are disputing the abstention vote, from small sectors of society, because the election is very disputed. It is becoming more and more difficult to convince them to vote for the candidates," he explained.

Ten days before the second round of the presidential elections in Brazil takes place, the current Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), continues to close the gap with his adversary, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

The candidate of the Workers' Party would obtain 49 percent of the total votes, compared to 45 percent of support that Bolsonaro would obtain, staying just four points away from his opponent. Four percent of the participants would vote blank or null, while the remaining one percent have not decided.

In a poll conducted last week by Datafolha, Lula da Silva had 49 percent of the support, while the president of Brazil had 44 percent, thus marking a point of difference between the two polls.

In the first round, on Sunday, October 2, Lula obtained 48.4 percent of the valid votes, compared to 43.2 percent for Bolsonaro. In third place, Simone Tebet (MDB) was left with 4.2 percent; behind, Ciro Gomes (PDT), with three percent.
