Iranian authorities execute second prisoner on charges related to social protests in the country

MADRID, 12 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Iranian authorities have executed this Monday the second prisoner who has been officially convicted of an alleged crime derived from the protests that have been organized in different parts of the country since the death in police custody of the young Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini.

The prisoner, identified as Majidreza Rahnavard, was sentenced to death for allegedly killing two members of the security forces and wounding four others with a knife in late November.

The agents reportedly arrested the suspect on November 28, while he was planning to flee the country. Immediately after the arrest, the process of his case would have started, reports the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

In the court session, the defendant would have accepted his authorship in the crimes, regretting that he has "afflicted many families."

Late last week, Iran announced it had executed the first prisoner, identified as Mohsen Shekari, convicted of "intentionally" wounding a security guard with a long knife and blocking a street in the capital.
